Nutrition Fundamentals for Personal Trainers and their Clients (3 BCRPA CEC’s)

Set the foundation for Personal Training with this introduction to basic nutrition and healthy eating principles. Starting with the core concepts of healthy eating, healthy weight, and safe and effective weight loss, you will learn how to help your clients make the biggest impact on their fitness and weight loss goals: eating better.  Properly coach your clients to make good shopping decisions by reading food labels to choose healthy carbohydrate, protein and fat sources to support their lifestyle. You will learn which nutrients are lacking in the Canadian diet and how to choose foods to replace the missing nutrients. We will discuss basic sports nutrition including nutrients of concern from newly active people to athletes, the latest research on protein needs, and the importance of nutrient timing to exercise performance. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to provide confident, up-to-date answers to your clients’ nutrition questions.
