personal trainerI have always considered myself to be an athlete, though my appearance and performance was not always a good representation of how I felt inside. I have struggled with my weight and self image most of my life. Through the years, especially after getting married and having 3 children, my weight increased while my self confidence decreased. I lacked motivation and knowledge of how to get out of the rut I was in. A defining moment for me happened at the beginning of one fastball season. I found it hard to reach down to put my cleats on. I could not believe I had let myself get to that point. I no longer liked who I was inside and out. That is when I decided to start my self-improvement journey and become a personal trainer.

I started my fitness journey when I was 34. It began with a simple walking challenge with my friends. From there we joined a fitness challenge at my gym and I started to feel fit again. I slowly changed how I approached food and exercise. I ended up losing over 60 pounds, but weight loss was never my goal, it was just a side effect of living a healthier lifestyle. My victory was not what I had lost, but everything I had gained. Life was easier and more enjoyable. I was a better wife, mother, daughter, and friend. I had much less stress and much more confidence than ever before. I have made small, sustainable changes over time that have allowed me to continue my success. This journey made me realize my love for encouraging and helping others reach and surpass their health and fitness goals.

I believe that anyone can achieve their health and fitness goals through small, lasting changes over time. There are no magic pills or easy buttons, but it does not take long to start seeing and feeling positive changes once you start making yourself a priority. It is never too late to start feeling stronger, healthier, happier.
